Fencing, Tree Care & Garden Services in Aberpennar / Mountain Ash
Operating from our Pontypool base across our 15-mile operating radius into the Cynon Valley, JDP Outdoor Solutions brings heavy-duty equipment, storm-proof boundary installations, and skilled tree surgery directly to domestic properties, hillside gardens, and rental portfolios across Aberpennar / Mountain Ash.
Outdoor Groundwork Built for Hillside Slopes and Valley Weather
Working across Aberpennar / Mountain Ash presents distinctive environmental demands. Traditional terraced gardens rising steeply up the valley sides, narrow rear lane access, and damp, heavy soils mean that standard timber boundary posts often suffer premature wet rot or succumb to valley wind funnels during winter storms.
At JDP Outdoor Solutions, led by owner Jac Price, we do not cut corners with lightweight materials. We bring specialist plant, high-torque augers, and cold-rolled steel post systems engineered to hold firm in tough terrain. Whether you manage a property along the valley floor or a terraced garden backing onto open hillside, we take full responsibility for site access, materials handling, and lawful waste clearance.
Steep Terraced Boundaries
Stepped panel installation, custom gravel boards, and deep footing digs for difficult hillside gradients.
Cynon Valley Wind Exposure
Engineered wind-resistant posts and robust closeboard framing that withstand valley gales.
High-durability Birkdale DuraPost installation with pressure-treated timber panels, ideal for exposed valley inclines.

Why We Install Birkdale DuraPost Across the Valleys
Timber posts in saturated Welsh valley soils can rot through at ground level within five to eight years. Concrete posts, while rot-free, are brittle, prone to hairline cracking under wind load, and difficult to manoeuvre up steep terraced steps.
As a Birkdale DuraPost installer, we recommend cold-rolled galvanised steel posts. DuraPost withstands winds up to 110mph, will not rot or crack, and is up to 80% lighter than concrete, making hillside boundary installation smoother and structurally superior.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you charge extra to travel to Aberpennar / Mountain Ash from Pontypool?
No. Aberpennar sits comfortably within our regular 15-mile operating radius. All site visits and quotations are free and carry no obligation.
Can you handle fencing on steep hillside terraces with narrow rear lanes?
Yes. A large proportion of our valley work involves tiered domestic plots. We step timber panels neatly, dig deep post footings into solid ground, and hand-carry materials safely where vehicle access is restricted.
Do I need council consent for tree surgery in Rhondda Cynon Taf?
If your tree is protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) or located within a designated Conservation Area, an application must be submitted to Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council before work starts. We can advise on this during our site survey.
What happens to the green waste and old fence panels after the job?
As an Upper Tier / Full Waste Carrier licensed contractor with Natural Resources Wales, we remove all waste directly in our trucks and dispose of it lawfully at registered transfer facilities.
